Our doctor recommended that we consider using a Mohel to do little Q’s circumcision and we immediately asked our fabulous friend Judy who we should contact. She of course had the best person (aka the Mohel to the Stars) and contacted him on our behalf. So, on Wednesday we had the official Bris for our son. The Mohel, Rabbi Daniel Waknine, was truly amazing. He made what could have been a dour situation something joyful that I will remember the rest of my life. I’m not sure that Allen was quite as enthused in the beginning as I was but he came around. I actually got to hold Quentin and surround him with love while the circumcision took place. The actual procedure was quick and was preceded by some beautiful words by Rabbi Wak (as he is known). He pointed out that the Jewish people do this in a home instead of a hospital in order to make the procedure loving and warm. He also pointed out that they celebrate that each child is unique and a gift from God... |

Dear Rabbi Daniel Waknine,
Thank you so much for your wedding services on March 4th 2010. You did a beautiful job, your voice and your singing was amazing. We really enjoyed the fact that the service was done in Hebrew, Spanish and English.
Thank you, Rosie and Daniel Cohen

Thanks to Mohel Daniel Waknine,
My son's brith milah was an event I will always remember and cherish.
Usually a stressful and nerve-wrecking event in a parent's life, Mohel Waknine installed complete confidence in me, preparing me emotionally and psychologically for my son's brit millah. He put me at ease, and explained the religious and spiritual aspects of the ceremony.
The brit itself was unexpectedly (in a good way) quick and short. My newborn son barely cried, and healed rapidly and beautifully.
Daniel Waknine is without a doubt "The Quickest Blade in the West" ! I consider Daniel Waknine like family now, and his professionalism and warm heartedness is unmatched. I have seen other mohels, and Daniel Waknine is by far the best for the baby, and for the parents.
G-d willing, I would love for him to perform the brit millah of my future sons, and of my grandsons!

It was an honor and blessing having Rabbi Daniel Waknine as the Rabbi and Mohel during the highest spiritual moment of my life -and the lives of our two sons—their bris.
Rabi Waknine made the covenant/bris the most memorable, spiritual, religious celebration one could possibly imagine. With perfect performance and with perfect physical outcomes, the Rabbi conducted the celebration of life and Judaism with emotional joy, let alone a remarkable party. Everyone was moved beyond description. His knowledge, his professionalism, and his incredible gifts will stay with our family, and all that attended forever.
With deepest thanks and gratitude,
Dr. Shlomit Michaely

A month before my son Ryder was born my boyfriend and I asked my OB who I trust with my life, and those of my children, for a recommendation for a Mohel. He did not hesitate for a second and quickly jotted down the name Rabbi Daniel Waknine. He said that Rabbi Waknine had done the Bris for both his sons and that was enough of a recommendation for me. My boyfriend is Jewish and the ceremony was very important to him and his family. Up until a recent hot day in August, all I knew about a Bris was from one I had seen on a documentary on TV show and the little boy screamed and cried so bad that I had just assumed do my own son's circumcision in the hospital where I could be down the hall. But I'm so glad I was there. Rabbi Waknine made it into an event to be remembered. He explained everything about the ceremony, the traditions and why this day was so important in my little one's life. The way he spoke took away my fears and even made me look at my boyfriend (Eric) differently while the Rabbi spoke. Eric lives in Florida, I live in California and he had gone to a lot of expense and trouble to fly his entire family to Los Angeles before my baby was even born just so they could all be there for this day. I have to admit I didn't really understand until that moment why they had gone to all this trouble to see a baby be circumcised. But when Rabbi Waknine spoke, what he said made me understand, when I looked at Eric who was glowing with pride I got why this ceremony was so important. |
By the time my little Ryder was placed on his Great-Grandmothers lap I was calm. Everything was clean and sterile and the procedure so so fast I asked him if that was it and my little boy only cried for a second because he was cold. There was minimal bleeding and Rabbi Waknine took the time to go over all Ithe post-procedure care with me. My family and I cannot thank my OB enough for leading us to such a caring, skilled and personable Mohel. My family was so happy that he was able to join us for our party because we really got to know him. If any of my friends were having a boy I would recommend Rabbi Waknine as rapidly as my OB had done. When our celebration was over we asked him to come to
